Founders Statement
At Lighthouse Community Recovery Home, we believe that recovery is not just a process — it’s a journey of rebuilding lives, relationships, and hope.
Founded on the simple but powerful idea that community is the catalyst for transformation, Lighthouse stands amid the darkness as a beacon for those seeking direction navigating the obstacles faced in pursuit of a second chance.
We are committed to providing a safe, structured, and compassionate environment where individuals in recovery can rediscover their strength, reclaim their future, and ignite a life worth living.
We know the path is not easy.
It demands accountability, resilience, and courage — not just from those we serve, but from those who serve alongside them.
Lighthouse was built for that purpose:
To serve aa a home where grace meets structure, where challenges are faced together, and where every individual has the opportunity to rise beyond their circumstances.
We are proud to walk this road beside our community members — not rescuing, not enabling, but empowering them to become the authors of the next chapter of their story.
This is more than recovery.
This is redemption, rebuilt from the inside out — one life, one day, one decision at a time.
We are Lighthouse.
And we are here to stay.

When you finally resolve what you are running from, your running to stops."
Masking the Pain
One common thread among those battling addiction is the tendency to run from problems or mask them. In the therapeutic community model that guides our approach, we believe in addressing the underlying issues that lead individuals to seek solace in substances.
Addiction often serves as a means of escape, allowing individuals to temporarily distance themselves from the challenges, traumas, or emotions they find overwhelming. The act of running from problems can manifest in various ways, including substance abuse, avoidance, and denial. The initial allure of drugs or alcohol lies in their ability to provide a sense of numbness, a brief respite from the harsh realities of life.
However, this escape is fleeting, and the cycle of seeking refuge in substances can become a relentless pattern.
This behavior, while providing a reprieve, ultimately perpetuates a cycle of dependency and prevents true healing.
The Cycle of Escape:
Drugs and alcohol may provide a numbing effect, offering a brief respite from the intensity of difficult emotions. However, this masking is only temporary, and the underlying issues remain unaddressed. Without confronting the root causes, individuals may find themselves trapped in a cycle of dependency as they repeatedly seek refuge in substances.
By masking their emotional pain, they believe they can temporarily escape the weight of their troubles.
However, it's essential to understand that this approach only perpetuates the cycle of addiction without addressing the underlying issues.
Many individuals grappling with addiction fear confronting their problems directly. The prospect of facing deep-seated issues, painful memories, or unresolved conflicts can be overwhelming, driving individuals to seek refuge in substances rather than addressing the root causes. The therapeutic community model at Lighthouse Community Recovery Home encourages individuals to confront these fears in a supportive and nurturing environment.
Resolving and Healing:
The journey to recovery involves more than just breaking free from substance dependence; it requires a commitment to self-discovery and healing. When individuals confront the issues they've been running from, they gain the power to transform their lives. The therapeutic community model fosters an atmosphere of understanding and empathy, enabling residents to face their challenges head-on, and paving the way for lasting recovery.
"When you finally resolve what you are running from, your running to stops."
This mantra embodies the essence of our therapeutic community model at Lighthouse Community Recovery Home.
By understanding the reasons behind the inclination to run from problems, we pave the way for true healing.
Through compassionate support, self-reflection, and a commitment to addressing the root causes of addiction, individuals can embark on a transformative journey toward lasting recovery.

The Lighthouse Program Philosophy
We have come to accept responsibility for our emotions and behaviors.
All of us have disappointed loved ones we have also disappointed ourselves.
We all know what it is like to feel afraid, hurt, helpless, lonely, and ashamed.
Perhaps the greatest agony we must overcome is the realization that we have done this to ourselves.
As a result, I need your help, I need your awareness to gain insight that has eluded me in the past.
I need the Lighthouse to illuminate my issues so I can begin to be the healthy person I long to be. I must stand up for myself with courage, hope, and perseverance.
This is real, this is life, my life your life our lives.
