Lauren’s Wish
A Morgantown-based nonprofit offering a safe, supportive space for individuals with substance use disorder awaiting treatment placement. Located at Hazel’s House of Hope, the 28-bed triage center provides peer support, case management, and basic needs while connecting clients to long-term recovery programs. WV Hope in Action Alliance
A statewide nonprofit connecting community sectors across West Virginia and Appalachia to address mental health, substance use disorder, and social inequities. Through collaboration and grassroots engagement, the Alliance supports systems change, youth investment, and cross-sector partnerships to strengthen communities. Signature initiatives include the annual Hope Gala and the Spark Symposium.
St. Joseph Recovery Center (SJRC)
Located in Parkersburg, WV, SJRC is a comprehensive behavioral health facility offering detox, residential, outpatient, and mobile services for adults and veterans facing substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. Treatment includes Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), trauma-informed care, and holistic therapies like equine therapy. Most insurance plans are accepted.
Tyrand Cooperative Ministries
Christian-based mission project of the United Methodist Church, serving individuals and families in Randolph County, West Virginia. Their programs include a food pantry, emergency assistance, home repair, school supplies, and holiday support. Tyrand is committed to providing essential services without discrimination, fostering faith and compassion within the community.
West Virginia Public Transportation Association (WVPTA)
Through funding from the State Opioid Response (SOR) Grant, WVPTA offers free transportation to individuals with Opioid or Substance Use Disorders (OUD/SUD) seeking treatment or recovery services. Coverage includes all 55 counties in West Virginia, with access to after-hours rides and flexible routes.

Committed to providing cost-effective, high-quality care for individuals across all age groups—children, adolescents, adults, and seniors—facing emotional challenges, intellectual disabilities, mental illness, or substance use disorders. Their mission is to help each person reach their highest possible quality of life through compassionate, professional support.
Potomac Valley Transit Authority (PVTA)
Formed in 1977, PVTA provides both deviated fixed-route and demand-response public transportation services throughout Hampshire, Hardy, Grant, Mineral, and Pendleton Counties. Their mission is to improve the quality of life for riders by offering safe, convenient, and affordable access to transportation—helping individuals stay connected to work, healthcare, and community resources.
Serenity Pointe
Located in Williamson, WV, Serenity Pointe is a comprehensive substance use disorder (SUD) treatment facility offering both inpatient and outpatient services. With a capacity for approximately 90 residents, Serenity Pointe emphasizes individualized care plans, peer recovery coaching, and support for co-occurring disorders. Their holistic approach integrates medical and behavioral health services to support long-term recovery.
The REACH Initiative & West Virginia Reentry Councils
A statewide nonprofit dedicated to supporting justice-impacted individuals. The REACH Initiative operates a network of Reentry Councils across West Virginia, addressing barriers such as housing, employment, and healthcare. The organization empowers individuals to reintegrate successfully and become leaders in criminal justice reform.
The Refinery Church – Elkins
A Christ-centered church in Elkins, WV, dedicated to reaching Appalachia with God's love. The Refinery offers a welcoming environment with Sunday services featuring breakfast, worship, and children's programs. Midweek activities include homework help and youth gatherings. The church emphasizes authenticity, community, and discipleship, aiming to support individuals and families in their spiritual journey. They also host programs like Celebrate Recovery to assist those dealing with hurts, habits, and hang-ups.
West Virginia Division of Rehabilitation Services (WV DRS)
Supports West Virginians with disabilities, starting at age 14, in preparing for, obtaining, maintaining, or advancing in employment. Services include vocational counseling, job training, assistive technology, and specialized support for individuals with vision or hearing impairments. WV DRS also administers the state's Disability Determination Section, which processes SSDI and SSI claims.
Wise Path Recovery Centers
Wise Path Recovery Centers is a West Virginia-based treatment network offering comprehensive care for substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. Their services include medically supervised detox, short-term residential treatment, intensive outpatient programs (IOP), and Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT). With locations in Morgantown (Cheat Rd. and Westover) and Williamson, Wise Path provides individualized, evidence-based care designed to support long-term recovery.
Recovery Point West Virginia
A statewide nonprofit offering long-term, peer-led residential recovery programs at no cost. Facilities in Huntington, Charleston, Bluefield, and Parkersburg provide structured, abstinence-based treatment, including non-medical detox, 12-step programming, peer mentoring, and transitional support. Programs are open to men and women, with some locations serving court-referred participants.
Peak Living Services
A West Virginia nonprofit dedicated to ending chronic and veteran homelessness through transitional housing, supportive services, and recovery referrals. Programs include:
Veterans Life Way Center: 12-bed transitional housing for male veterans, offering wraparound services.
Twin Cities Supportive Housing Center: 16-bed co-ed facility for individuals with mental or chronic illnesses, providing 24-hour assistance.
Liberty Center: Transitional housing for individuals reentering from incarceration, focusing on those with a history of substance abuse.
